Bella & Piglet are a bonded pair of cuddlebugs. They are living in foster care until they find their forever home and their foster Mary is having lots of fun with them in the meantime. She has a lot to tell you about them! "Bella & Piglet are an active pair but most frequently can be found cuddling with each other on the couch. I have introduced them to friends, neighbors, family, and random people visiting the neighborhood and everyone gets a wiggily and enthusiastic greeting. I usually walk them 3x per day which leads to good naps and a full night of sleep. They are both house-trained and go out on leash and in the backyard. Both dogs like playing with and destroying squeaky toys and chewing on bones, horns, whatever. Bella has learned to bring the ball and drop it near me most of the time. Bella is more high energy and needs more play time. Piglet has some allergies but responds well to the medication given by the SPCA. Whoever adopts this pair has a lot to look forward to!"

About The Maryland SPCA

About Our Shelter...

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
