Lady's Story...
Lady is just what her name implies- a gentle, dainty, lovely LADY! When Lady first came to the shelter, she had a rough time. She was so afraid, she didn't want to interact with anyone or come out of her kennel. Thanks to consistent attention from volunteers and staff, as well as our new play groups, Lady has really come out of her shell!

At first, Lady is a bit shy, but she warms up very quickly and was soon seeking out attention from us and giving us kisses. She walks perfect on the leash and already knows "sit" for a treat. Bonus- if you're looking for a dog to take selfies with you, Lady is all about the camera! ;-)

If mellow and sweet is what you're looking for, visit Lady at our West Valley shelter (2500 S. 27th Ave., Phx)! Hours are 11-6 Mon-Fri and 11-5 Sat & Sun. Lady does well with the dogs in her play group and would love to meet your dog from home. Bring them in and we can help with a meet and greet. Lady is listed at 2 yrs old and her $20 adoption fee includes spay, rabies certificate and County license. Lady- A3869043

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady, a Phoenix Labrador Retriever/Whippet dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Whippet for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Whippet dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Whippet breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Whippet rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
