Facts about Harleigh (Slim Pickens)

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: White (Mostly)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
Slim Pickens was born January 2016 and was rescued off the streets of Baldwin Park bythe crew at Laidlaw's Harley Davidson. Slim was living in the wash & kids would throw rocks at her. She was extremely thin and only a few people would bring her food, hence the name Slim Pickens. When she began walking into the service department, they decided she had to go for her safety. She was definitely someone's cat who was either left behind or tossed out. She is awesome to have around and will be your best buddy. She loves wearing her collar and has striking Green Eyes!! She loves adults and to curl up with you on the couch.

Due to the rock throwing & abuse she endured in the wash from kids, this would not be an option for her. Coyotes running the wash eating cats, made her wary of dogs also. She was living on the streets fending for herself yet, so she is terretorial when it comes to other cats. She's not mean, just a little aggressive and it scares other kitties who have never had to survive out there.

She is an absolute LOVE! She is a "velcro cat"...who sticks to you like glue. She travels well in a carrier. She has just learned how to play and her foster has had her for roughly 4 months. She is now a healthy weight, and we would love to find her a home ASAP so she can bond with you! If you are looking for a single cat who needs NO training or one who would absolutely love you to the ends of the earth....Slim is for you!! Please give her a chance and she will STEAL your heart...promise!!

About The TNR Project

About Our Rescue Group...

The TNR Project humanely & successfully performs TNR which stands for Trap-Neuter-Return. We are a 100% grassroots community movement of volunteers. TNR has been proven to stem community cat growth & overpopulation by controlling the numbers of unwanted cats & kittens on the streets and keep them out of the shelters. We TNR 1000+ cats & kittens every year since 2015. We have classes with FixNation & Alley Cat Allies 3-4x a year to help train people who want to make a difference in their community and to the felines they see. All of the cats & kittens you see here on our site have been born on the streets, abandoned, left to die or worse. They were all community street cats before we stepped in to save them. We do not pull from shelters. We believe that by staying on the streets which is Ground Zero, we will make the difference people are so desperately hoping for....No-Kill Shelters. One shelter we work with experienced a 40% intake decline of cats after we started working their communities. What we prevent from being born on the streets doesn't end up in shelters, being surrendered, being abandoned, clogging the rescues or breeding several times a year with unwanted kittens. We want cats & kittens currently in rescues & shelters to have MORE time available to them to get into a great home...not euthanasia!
We walk the talk and do good where it's needed...on the streets! If you would like more information on TNR or learn how you can help your community cats, please visit: www.thetnrproject.org and fill out a contact us/join us form. Save a stray, save a life! Thank you for rescuing!!
