My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Rainee and several months ago, my life seemed hopeless one rainy evening on the streets of Houston. But then, the kindest lady got me off of the street and out of the rain, giving me a new lease on life. Little did she know that I was an expectant mom! Since then, I raised my 6 puppies and they’ve all been adopted. My foster mom and dad have been showing what it’s all like to live in a home with people who love me and while I love them, I am ready to find my own happily ever after. I'm a very people-oriented girl. If a human is kind to me, I'm going to love that person. I love to be petted, hugged, and doted on. I will be your faithful girl and let you know that you are the center of my universe. I love to please you and am very treat motivated, so I'm a pretty easy girl to train. I've taken an obedience class and continue to work on some basic commands. I'm also working on my loose leash walking. I know that the leash means that I'm going to get to go somewhere, so I'm all for it. Oh, and I love, love, love car rides and am perfectly behaved in the car. I’m really working on my overall enthusiasm when I’m out on my leash – sometimes I want to get somewhere faster than my foster mom is taking me (there is a lot to see and smell out there)! Whereas I am very open to being friends with all humans, I'm a little more selective about dogs with whom I'd like to be friends. I prefer the companionship of dogs that are not super hyper and in my face and am more compatible with male dogs about my size or smaller. While I am a perfect human companion and play well with some dogs, I’m not the type of dog that will enjoy the dog park. I would settle into a home just fine as an only dog. Your friendship and love is all I need and I will return both unconditionally!
