My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruby is a beautiful red Doberman who we estimate to be 1.5-2 years old. Although she has a smiling face, Ruby's life wasn't always a happy one. She was rescued from a backyard breeder where she was discarded to the yard and put to work to line her greedy owners pockets. She didn't receive much human interaction at that horrible house and tends to be fearful of most new experiences until they become normal to her. Despite, her early experiences, Ruby still has a lot of puppy in her. She enjoys playing with other dogs and chasing her foster brother around the back yard in an innocent game of cat and mouse. She is also learning what is a toy and what isn't a toy. Due to her dobie height she can get into unlocked trash cans and has a love for socks and flip flops that are left unattended. Ruby is a very quiet girl but has some funny quirks that make her personality unique and entertaining. She often barks at her food before eating it and she tap dances when she gets excited - both are pretty entertaining to watch.
She loves her foster brothers and sisters and is excellent around dogs in public. She also chicken friendly and appears to be cat friendly from her brief introductions. Ruby is also very content in a kennel and will go to it on command. If left in a main area of the house, she will retreat to her kennel for naps throughout the day. She tends to be a pretty laid back and lazy girl, often times just taking in her surroundings with her nubby tail expressing her excitement for what she is seeing. Her new owners will need to be prepared to help her continue to grow in a healthy environment, using positive reinforcements to help build her confidence. In the short time Ruby has been with her foster family she has blossomed tremendously and we have no doubt that with the right forever-family she will continue to grow into the confident Dobie we know she can be. Ruby is heart worm negative, up to date on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.

Ruby's adoption fee is $175. This includes her spay, DHPP and rabies vaccines, heartworm test and preventive (through date of adoption), flea and tick preventive (through date of adoption), and microchip.

If you are interested in meeting her please email us at adoptions@teamstinkykiss.com to request an adoption application.
