Delta's Story...
Delta is a stunning Shepherd estimated around 3.5 years of age. Delta was originally found as a stray in August 2016 and prior to that we have no history on her. Delta has been in a home since last August where she was lived with young children and did wonderful. Unfortunately after Delta settled into the home she became aggressive with the cats and despite seeking training she would not back down. Delta can not be in a home with cats or small dogs.

Delta is an great girl overall. She is sociable and friendly with everyone she meets. She is a bit of a bulldozer despite the fact her previous adopters were working with a trainer Delta is not the type to automatically listen to someone. She is a strong, dominate dog who will require a strong owner. Delta has been living in the home and gone on road trips with the kiddos with no issues.

Delta is a dominate female who brings that out whenever she meets a new dog. She is fostered with other German Shepherds without issue however it has been noted that she is reactive to small dogs. She does not get along with other dominate females but is open to getting along with more submissive females and males. Delta values herself the Queen and will require a home that can manage her ego.

Delta is a very energetic dog and will require plenty of exercise in addition to a job. Although Delta doesn't carry her obedience training from person to person she is not a stupid dog. She is a diva with selective hearing - if she can bind a rule she will try. Delta would excel with a dedicated handler who wanted to try dog sports for fun or as a running companion. She has been allowed to get a little overweight so conditioning is a must but she has enough energy to accomplish anything she sets her stubborn self to.

Delta is searching for an energetic human to match her energetic self that will also understand her Shepherd prey drive.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Delta, a Louisville German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Louisville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Louisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Louisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Louisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Louisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
