Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you are looking for a medium sized, middle aged, low maintenance dog with a big personality, keep reading! Ariel looks like a small Puggle. Her age is estimated at 6 years and she currently weighs 20 pounds. She is completely housebroken, as well as dog and people-friendly. Ariel is ready to move right in with someone who is looking for a loving 4-legged companion!
Her foster dad tells us: "Ariel has really opened up. She loves going for walks and is very easy to walk on a leash. She is always friendly towards (or just ignores!) anyone we encounter, and she is fine around other dogs. She doesn’t really play with my dogs, but they all get along. She loves running around in the backyard and spends a lot of time outside if you let her. When people come to the house she is good with everyone, including little kids. She sleeps soundly through the night, usually in her bed or sometimes on the couch. Ariel is affectionate, but not over the top or in your face. She doesn’t demand to be held but she loves to be petted, and she is very content just sitting next to you or on your lap. She is fine left alone in the house, although she will cry a little when we are leaving. She wants to go with you and she lets you know it. Since she wants to be around people as much as possible it would be wonderful for her to find a family where someone is home part or all day."
You can meet Ariel at her new foster home-- Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road in Wilmette--during normal store hours (847-251-6750, wilmettepetcenter.com). Although she is so sweet you will want to take her home on the spot, please note you will have to submit an application (available by emailing info@adoptapet-il.org or calling 847-550-9690. For a faster response, we suggest email since our volunteers check email before and after regular business hours.)
Ariel's adoption fee of $310 includes routine vet exam, DAPP distemper combo vaccination, bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, flea/tick preventative, heartworm test (negative) heartworm preventative, routine deworming, microchip and spay.
