Facts about Havok D5695

  • Breed: German Shepherd Dog
  • Color: Black - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 11086886
Havok was rescued from a crowded shelter. He is gorgeous but a wild child and had no training. He failed his shelter tests because he is untrained and is an excited youngster. We were his last hope. Havok is very people friendly and tested fine with another dog in yard. He did have barrier and some reactive barking on leash (excited) at shelter. He reacted at outside noise (i.e. leaf blower). Once he calms down he is lovable and listens to corrections from handler. Havok is very smart and learned to sit for treats right away. Gentle mouth taking treats. He needs a very experienced adult guardian to exercise and train him! He is working dog breed and needs GSD experienced guardian training someone around more and lots of daily exercise. Adult only home for now. No cats. He has too much prey drive to be living with cats in a home. He could be trained to walk by and focus on his handler but left to his own and not supervised his prey drive will kick in.

About Furry Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing, fostering and finding homes for companion animals in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We need more foster homes so we can save more animals! Would you please consider opening your home to a loving companion animal so they can have a chance for a new life? See our Foster Home info page.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Come see us at one of our Pet Showcases. Our locations and schedule can be found on our showcase locations page.

Our Adoption Process...

We are very thorough in our adoption process. The details and costs can be found on our How to Adopt page. We expect the whole family to be involved in the process.

We believe our dogs and cats should be treated as family members for their entire lives. They deserve the best we can give them and we should never give up on them. Adoption is for life!
