Timon's Story...
Meet Timon! Gentle, gentle, gentle. This sweet boy is an incredible soul. Extremely shy at first, but with repeat visits, you'll begin to see just how wonderful his personality truly is. Timon participates in a lot of off-site community practice as part of his training here at the center - going to the park, spending an afternoon in a home environment, taking car rides, and going for long walks. He is learning to love it all, becoming more and more confident, relaxed and loving towards people. Timon is great with other dogs and has been integrated into lots of doggie play groups at CRCS. He is comfortable with his canine pals and loves to be in their company. Due to his softness, some dogs view his energy as vulnerable. We would love for Timon to go to a home with other dogs however we will be careful with the types of personalities that we place him with. For his happiness and continued growth, only happy go lucky personalities and/or balanced dogs please. Timon's ideal environment will be quiet and patient yet still very active. He needs to continue to get out and explore the world! Age 2 years. 12 lbs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Timon, a Washoe Valley Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund for sale in Washoe Valley, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Washoe Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washoe Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washoe Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washoe Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
