Marshmallow is a 6 year-old Maltese Shih Tzu boy that weighs 5.8 lb. He is a sweet lap dog who is happy just being around people and cuddling for as long as you’ll let him. He was rescued from the Collin County shelter and has been in foster care since December. His foster mom is absolutely enamored with him because he is such a good dog. He sleeps all night curled up on his dog bed next to his foster mom, though he is also crate trained and does not mind sleeping in a crate. He is house-broken and very calm in general, even if there are other dogs running around and loud noises. He gets along with everyone. He is also good on a leash and loves to go on walks. The only issue he has, through no fault of his own, is that he has dry eyes and requires special attention to clean out his eyes 2-3 times a day and give him medication for him to feel better. His dedicated foster mom has been taking great care of him and we can see it in his smile that he feels better now than when he was first rescued. Anyone interested in our dogs must be over 21. We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors.
