My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trooper is a Beagle, male, 2 years of age.

Trooper is a friendly, extremely hearty and good-natured, very gentle and devoted dog – always cheerful and ever on the lookout for adventurous daytimes and leisurely evenings alongside his much-loved family members. A definite pack hound, he’s a highly social, endearing, sweet-natured, and people-oriented boy who lives for companionship and lots of close contact -- he’ll simply languish and become depressed without it.

He’s also a lively, inquisitive, and very playful young dog; quick and eager to please when he knows what is expected of him. A calm, well-mannered housedog that’s exactly what he’ll continue to be so long as he’s iincluded in family activities and his daily mental and physical exercise needs are met with interactive outdoor activities and regular leashed walks. Add obedience training, continuing positive social experiences, and adventurous outings alongside his much-adored family members and well . . . perfection if you were to ask Trooper what he thought about it

While a scent hound with a keen nose (and sensitive hearing), he’s really not a big sniffer or trailer, but he’ll still need to be secured on a leash, supervised, and/or have access to a safe, secured yard when outdoors.

An extremely sensitive and loving family companion, Trooper is best suited for a home with a moderately-active lifestyle and family members who can share with him the time and attention he needs and deserves.

Trooper currently lives in a foster home with other dogs all of whom he gets along very with well, and two cats, also who he gets along with. He’s a great fit for a multi-pet household, however, as with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be necessary prior to Trooper’s adoption.

You can meet Trooper at Monroe SPCA adoption events and by pre-arrangement with approved Adoption Application. All Monroe SPCA dogs available for adoption and in foster homes have an adoption fee of $200.00. This fee includes the dog being spayed or neutered, HW negative, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
