My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“There’s just something about Bella that is special. She’s going to make a once in a lifetime companion for the right person. She is a love,” says foster mom. Bella is a one year old, 60 pound hound mix who adores her people and loves the company of other dogs. Foster mom has numerous dogs in her home, and Bella has loved every one. Foster mom says that Bella is very smart and quick to learn, so with patience and guidance in her training she might be okay with cats. We would suggest that Bella go to a home with adults only as the little ones and their energy make her nervous. Bella is house trained and crate trained and walks with a Halti collar. She’s very good in her crate, and even when the other dogs are barking, she is quiet. Bella knows sit, come, and down, and she will wait for her food. Foster mom has said that she will make sure that Bella’s new home has the help they need to continue her training. She is excelling under the firm and assertive training she has been receiving from her foster mom. Bella is very good at entertaining herself, and foster mom says that Bella will toss a toy to herself if she has no immediate companion. She is an excellent hiking companion, and with her medium energy, she has the get up and go to enjoy a day hiking, but she will also snuggle on the couch or relax in her crate without issue. She was a bit shy of new people when she first came to foster mom, but again, with the proper training she has really blossomed in the last few weeks. Foster mom has seen a lot of dogs over the years, and her high praise of Bella certainly lets us know that this girl is sure to make the right person very happy!
