Hi, I'm Bear! Do you know someone who has a handicap but still gets around great? Just like me! I only I have 3 legs, but you would never know because I don't let it bother me. I was hit by a car several years ago, and had my back leg removed - but now, I'm as good as any 4 legged dog! I was told I am a Shepherd mix and maybe I have some Shiba Inu.. whatever I am, I know I'm cute! Im about 8 years old and all of love! Since I'm a big guy, I don't have a ton of stamina and have short bursts of energy. I am very good on a leash and like short walks (1 mile is perfect), playing with a toy, or just snoozing in the sun. I'm crazy for humans of all sizes and ages, but I do not jump on people. I would love to be a companion for older/bigger kids (who I can't accidentally knock over with my "wobbly" self).

I do like other dogs, but bigger dogs are better because of my size and preferably ones that are not "alpha" as my manners could use a little polishing. I used to live on the street, so I would benefit from structure and training.  I sleep in my crate all night long, am housebroken, and like giving kisses and having my head and belly rubbed - especially on the side I can't reach without a back leg!!!

I am looking for my forever family, could that be you?

About I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

I.C.A.R.E. is an all breed, no kill dog rescue. We rescue dogs at risk of being euthanized from shelters, abandoned, abused, and stray dogs. We also rescue many owner surrendered dogs; which are dogs that can no longer remain in their current homes due to financial or personal issues. I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in our shelters each and everyday. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. We also focus on educating the public regarding specific breeds, rescue, and general information regarding the canine species. We are a 100% volunteer run and supported organization that cannot survive without the help of loving fosters, volunteers, and benefactors.
