Doc **PENDING ADOPTION**'s Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.

Doc **PENDING ADOPTION**'s Story...
Everyone meet Doc! He is a handsome boxer boy that is on the hunt for his forever home! He is approximately 6 years old, weighs about 60 pounds, and is heartworm positive (which will be treated by RARE). He is a very silly fella that just needs a family to spend the rest of his days with.

Doc was surrendered to the shelter in January of 2017 because he bit a child in the face. BUT, the parents plainly told us that it was the child's fault! They adopted Doc from another shelter in Mississippi about 2.5 years ago which was also before they had children. They had a baby and the child is now 2 years old and would not stop pulling on Doc's lips, ears, and face. The parents said they tried to teach the child not to do that but the she continued tormenting Doc until he finally snapped at her one day and bit her on the face. The parents felt that it wasn't a good situation for Doc or their daughter anymore so they decided to surrender him to us.

He is approximately 6 years old, weighs about 60 pounds, is neutered, and is heartworm positive but he has been kept on a monthly heartworm preventative since they have had him. He is very playful despite his age and does good with other dogs as well.
**An application and home visit are required. Transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes. Please ask us for more information if you are not in Tennessee**

Our adoption fees not only help the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heart-worm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need to be made available for adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Doc **PENDING ADOPTION**, a Columbia Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
