Facts about Gershon

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 11090413-D2017047
Gershon was recently rescued from Cleburne animal shelter, Cleburne Tx. He is such a great boy. He is a Labrador but with a twist.
He looks like a lab but he has the most unusual black/brown coloring. Like flecks of color throughout his body. You might think he looks like he has mud on him in his photos, but he is clean! It's just his fur.

Gershon would be your typical Labrador, one that love's to be active and is playful. He gets along well with most of the dogs he has met in his foster home. He really is a social boy and generall loves life!
He loves people, and really enjoys interacting with them.

Gershon is crated when his foster mom is away from home. This ensures his safety and also keeps him from getting into something he shouldn't. After all how would he know otherwise?

If you are looking for a great adventure and many years of fun with a great pal, we think he is one dog you should consider.

The adoption includes age appropriate vaccinations, worming, rabies vaccination, heartworm test (neg), neuter, and microchip including registration.

If you are interested in me, fill out out an application at www.shelter2rescue.org. Call or text my foster mom Liz at 214-616-6128 if you want to find out more about me and what I require in my new home

About Shelter2Rescue Coalition

About Our Rescue Group...

Shelter2Rescue Coalition is an all-volunteer rescue organization dedicated to the safe-rehoming of shelter animals. We started as a rescue facilitation organization, helping rural shelters publicize their at-risk dogs, thereby dramatically reducing the need to euthanize for space. Then, as we worked with more shelters, it became very apparent that if we could just buy the dogs up for euthanasia just a little more time, you could save even more lives. The 72-hour hold limit at most shelters just wasn't enough for most dogs to get out. Therefore, we expanded and built partnerships with boarding facilities, transport organizations and other nationwide rescues in order to be able to provide a temporary safe haven for dogs out of time. We have now expanded Shelter2Rescue Coalition to include our own adoption program. Since June 2007, through facilitation and adoption, Shelter2Rescue Coalition volunteers have saved over 2000 dogs and cats.

Our Adoption Process...

We do our best to match up potential adopters with just the right pet as we want to ensure a lifelong placement for the rescued animal. Our adoption process includes an initial application, with home visit, reference and vet checks. If the match is a good one, we then have an adoption contract that is executed. We have a commitment not only to our adopted dogs, but also to the families that adopt them, and we are always available to help with the transition to a new home. We check in during the first few weeks to answer any questions or help with any issues - or to just give you someone to brag to about your new baby. We can't hear that too much!
