Dog's Name: Myles
Estimated Breed : Lab mix
Approximate Age: 1 year
Approximate Weight: 45 pounds
Currently Living at: Foster home
Adoption Fee: $300
This adorable boy is friendly, quiet (doesn't bark or cry), good on a leash, and super good with other dogs. At first, he's a little cautious and quiet but warms up very quickly and will act like an excited puppy. He can be pretty mouthy and loves to chew but is responsive to training and learns pretty quickly what is acceptable. He's doing really well with house-training at his foster home. Myles has lots of energy and LOVES to play with other dogs so a home with a fenced yard and another dog would be ideal or someone who is active and willing to take him on lots of long walks!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
