My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daisy is one lucky gal. When a hoarding situation was broken up by the police, she ended up at an over-capacity shelter. This sweet older lady was hours away from being euthanized when she was pulled out of the shelter into the safety of rescue. Daisy is estimated at about 10 years old, weighs 12 pounds, and is probably a purebred Yorkie. Her pretty coloring and silky coat certainly fit with that breed. At first, rescuers thought that she was diabetic because of her excessive water intake, but after spending some time in a loving foster home, and visiting the vet, it was determined that the thirst was a conditioned behavior brought about from water deprivation in her previous living situation. In other words, for the first time in her life, Daisy had free access to water, and she figured she'd better lap as much of it up as quickly as possible before it disappeared. As if that weren't enough, Daisy also needed six rotten teeth extracted. Well, nothing was going to keep Daisy down, and her loving, sweet personality came out soon after she was feeling better. She does well with cats and dogs (we're not sure about children yet), is house trained and crate trained, and is sweet as sugar. She's happy and healthy now, understands that she's safe and won't ever be without food or water again, and is ready to meet her perfect forever family.
