Cat Trainable - Yes
Our policy is to reserve the cat-trainable dogs for those homes that truly require them. If you have no small animals, you will need to adopt a dog that is not deemed small animal trainable.
Danny likely experienced some sort of trauma to his right front leg while at the racing farm. As a result, he has a hyperextended carpus (wrist) and hyperextended elbow. While the elbow sometimes looks weird, it doesn't bother him. The damage to his carpus has decreased the range of motion in the joint and will likely result in some decreased function as he ages. Supplementing him with glucosamine and other joint protectants may help keep his carpus healthier. Eventually, he may need to take an NSAID like Rimadyl.
Danny is a sweet, happy little guy. He's very young and can be unsure of himself in new situations, but as he is exposed to more new things, his confidence will grow. He has started to learn to play fetch with a plastic water bottle. He enjoys rawhide bones..
Danny did well in cat testing, but has never lived with a cat. Use a muzzle initially, and closely monitor all interactions. When unable to monitor the interaction, some form of physical barrier should be used, i.e. crating.
Danny interacted well with the other greyhounds, but his playfulness can be annoying to some dogs. Caution should be used whenever in the vicinity of non-greyhounds.
