Shortie is a special needs pup that will require a very specific person and home to be successful. Shortie needs to live in an adult only home that does not regularly have people coming and going because he is fearful of new people and protective of his home. After several months in foster, Shortie has started to open up with his foster mom and has begun to show more of his personality with her. Once Shortie does begin to bond with his person, he is a funny, goofy pup that likes being in the backyard, chasing his own tail, napping close to his human and loving the resident cat. Although this love is unrequited he has lived successfully with her. Shortie's forever home will need to be very patient and understanding that he will take quite awhile before feeling comfortable with his new human and showing any interest in petting. Shortie is still learning how to be on leash and not to be so scared of the world around him so a house with a yard would be ideal. Shortie is pretty sensitive to the noises around him so apartment life might not be the best fit for him. Once he has become comfortable in his yard, he enjoys chasing the pool filter, eating leaves, napping in the sun, watching squirrels taunt him, and barking at the neighbors. He is working on his house training, riding in cars, and going on walks. If you feel like you might have the right home for Shortie, please e-mail email@example.com.
