After almost a year in foster, Shortie has grown in leaps and bounds! Due to a rough neglected start in life, Shortie is a pup that will require a very specific person and home to be successful. Shortie would do best in an adult only home that does not regularly have people coming and going because he is fearful of new people and protective of his foster. Once Shortie does begin to bond with his person, he is a gentle, and sweet low maintenance pup. He likes being in the backyard, chasing his own tail, napping close to his human and loving the resident cat. Although this love is unrequited he has lived successfully with her. Shortie's forever home will need to be very patient and understanding that he will take quite awhile before feeling comfortable with his new human and showing any interest in petting. Once he is comfortable he will greet you with a happy smiling face and waggy tail every morning! Shortie is learning excellent leash skills and has become more comfortable driving around doing errands with his foster mom. Shortie is pretty sensitive to the noises around him so apartment life might not be the best fit for him. Once he has become comfortable in his yard, he enjoys chasing the pool filter, eating leaves, napping in the sun, watching squirrels taunt him, and barking at the neighbors, but his favorite spot is next to his person. He is almost 100% potty trained and has had no issues with any sized dog.
