My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little girl has been through a lot - when we rescued her from the shelter she had been hit by a car and one of her front legs was fractured in 5 places. Our orthopedic surgeon said it was impossible to fix and so they amputated her leg. However, it has not slowed her down!!!! She can run like the wind and usually faster than her rescue buddies. She requires only dry food. We noticed that she was unable to keep food down so after several different tests and nothing obviously wrong, we had a neurologist examine her and they did some testing for different causes and everything was negative. The only conclusion is that she may have suffered a damaged nerve in her neck when she had the accident.. If she eats soft food too fast or if its too big she will throw it right back up and any snacks like chicken or turkey is cut up small and fed slowly so she doesn't gobble it down. She is quite the personality, she loves to run and play with the other dogs but can also be very precocious and bossy. She does better with small dogs her own size or slightly larger. She likes to chase the big dogs. She is approx 3-4 years and 8. lbs. She looks like a terrier mix. She is pretty well house trained and will run out to the yard with other dogs and does well on a harness. She just hops along with the other dogs. We prefer a home with older children or all adults. She is just a very endearing little girl.

The total adoption cost of $525 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration . The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. All our dogs are in foster care, there is no physical shelter. Some have not yet arrived in PA. Our application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
