Betsy (Spayed) - New Photos's Story...
"Betsy" is a beautiful 9-month old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on July 4, 2016 along with her brothers (Sammy & Patriot) after they were found in the Belpre Ohio area. They were tiny frail 4-5 week old kittens at that time and desperately in need of medical/first-aid attention. Sadly, the little brother "Patriot" did not survive :( But thankfully Betsy and Sammy not only survived but thrived thanks to the excellent care they were given by our compassionate HSOV kennel techs.

"Betsy" has a light brown short smooth coat in a tabby pattern, a long ringed tail, and a pretty face with a tiny white milk mustache. She has a playful, affectionate personality and dearly loves her big brother "Sammy" with whom she is sharing a large triple cat tower in our Jungle Room. These siblings have spent nearly all of their young lives in our shelter and have not been separated since coming to our shelter on the Fourth of July 2016. We feel it is in their best interest to find a home together.

"Betsy" was spayed on September 28, 2016 and was given rabies vaccine. She is up-to-date on vaccinations and has been given wormer/flea treatments. "Betsy" weighs approximately 9 lbs.

Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues/fosters.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Betsy (Spayed) - New Photos, a Marietta Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
