Here's what the humans have to say about me:
What isn't clear in these sad shelter photos is how truly beautiful this dog is with the stunning apricot and white streaks that run through his soft coat. Theo also has the cutest little underbite...you just want to hug this cutie-pie close. Once he gets a sudsy bath and his first grooming where you can truly see his face and very wise eyes...Theo will absolutely be one of the most adorable guys around. At 18 - 24 months old and 8 lbs, Theo is a perfect weight to accompany his family just about anywhere a sweet small dog is welcome.
Theo is every bit the young guy...fun and active. But at the same time he is a very happy pup (once he's used to his environment). At this early point in Theo's development, he loves almost everyone..be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Theo to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We also feel Theo would be most comfortable with an adult family or one with older, dog-crazy kids where voices are softer and the energy is calmer.
Right now, Theo is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Theo is so loyal that he can easily be a constant companion - he would love nothing more than leisurely walks, trips to the store (he's a great window-shopping friend), lap-sitting (he's the best lap-dog every!) or even a place at a pet-friendly workplace. Theo is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation...and if there is love and gentle guidance...he can succeed.
Theo's new family needs to have the motivation, energy and open heart for a young rescue dog. He requires behavioral guidance and tons of love to continue his positive attitude about the world.
Farfel's has requested that Theo be neutered prior to his arrival in Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this area of Texas. If it doesn't, we'll be happy to cover all costs for Theo's neuter and microchip if our Denver vet is used.
Theo appears to be a non-shedding guy (although we would never swear to it) with the beautiful and cottony-soft hair that speaks of both breeds in his mix. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition (a supplement of salmon oil would be great) to keep his coat cottony-soft and matt-free.
Theo is in foster care in the Denver area. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup. If interested in this adorable ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
