Meet Jasper
He was brought into a clinic one evening very skinny, ravenous appetite, and drinking water like crazy. He's only 5 so that was a red flag that we needed to do some bloodwork. We ran every blood test possible that we could here and the only value that was off was his blood glucose...it was close to 500 with normal being around 120. This meant he was diabetic. We told his owner this and she declined insulin to treat him. She took him home for about 3 days and called back to the clinic wanting to have him euthanized. It was then that I stepped in to take him with me.He's like any other cat he just requires an injection of insulin under the skin in the morning and an injection in the evening. I feed him 2 cans of friskies patte at each shot and leave dry food out for him all day to graze on. He doesn't even flinch when I give him his shot he's too obsessed with his food lol. He was 9 lbs when he orginally came in and is now just over 12 lbs and doing great!

Let me know if you are interested in adopting him or hearing more about him and I will put you in contact with his foster!

About Wild and Wonderful Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We have a passion for helping animals all over the state of West Virginia. One of our goals is to have contacts to work with in every county and to gain a better understanding of the needs of the different areas.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We can meet with you by appointment and currently are working on scheduling some adoption events with other rescues and clubs through the university!

Our Adoption Process...

An adoption application will need to be filled out, then if approved you will need to sign an adoption contract stating that you will provide adequate care for the animal, or you will return the animal to us. If the animal leaves our care and is not spayed/neutered you will need to sign a spay/neuter contract stating that you will get the animal spayed/neutered within a year.

Adoption Fees:
Standard Adoption Fee for cats/kittens is $30
Standard Adoption Fee for dogs/puppies is $60

Medical Care that the animal will receive before adoption:
All animals will be treated for fleas and given a month of preventative, they also will be wormed for internal parasites, and the cats will also be treated for ear mites if needed. Cats and dogs older than 6 months will be spayed/neutered before leaving, younger animals will be adopted out with a spay/neuter contract. Animals will receive their vaccines before leaving as well. Any sign of illness will result in a vet visit and the appropriate care will be taken.
