Izzy is a 4 yr year old, 8 lb scruffy little shihtzu- terrier mix that is looking for a new forever home. Her family was unable to care for her any longer and turned into a shelter hoping someone would open their heart and their home to her. She is a sweet little girl but very skittish and fearful of new things and situations. Because of this nervousness she would be considered a flight risk and needs a secure yard and must be watched when doors open so she doesn't run off. Izzy is playful , gets along with other dogs and older children but is not recommended for little ones since she jumps and can get mouthy or a bit nippy when excited. She likes to be held and will curl up in your arms for a snooze. The shelter said that she is house trained and for the most part she is except for a few accident while she is getting familiar with the new routine at her foster home. She defiinitelyis a fair weather pup as she needs to be encouraged or picked up and put outside when it's raining or cold. She has traits typical of little dogs such as jumping on furniture to be able to see out the window, pawing at you in a quick and extended time period when she wants to get your attention, whines and cries when you leave her, will follow you everywhere and barks at the bigger dogs thinking she's bigger than she is!
