Meet Sophie, a sweet senior female who weighs 7 pounds and is 14 years old. She is being fostered in Ashland City, TN.
Sophie comes to UYR from an owner who has had her for the last 10 plus years but had unexpected life circumstances that meant that they were no longer able to keep her. Today is a tough day for Sophie as it is very difficult to make major life changes at her age. She has been been waiting by the door for her person, bless her heart. Rest assured everyone at United Yorkie Rescue and especially Sophie's foster Mom will do everything in our power to make Sophie feel welcomed and loved while we search for someone SUPER SPECIAL to live her for the rest of her life. We want to BE VERY SURE that Sophie's next home is PERMANENT. Sophie is shy but super sweet once she gets to know you. Her former owner says she is fine with other dogs and older children but Sophie has never been around cats so we aren't sure if she is a feline fan. Sophie is house-trained and up to date on her care except that she needs a dental cleaning which has already been scheduled.
Sophie needs that very special someone to adopt her that loves the gentle spirit and mellow personality of a senior dog. She would do great with an older person who is looking for a special lovable fur-friend to to cuddle with and trade belly rubs for puppy kisses and while away the hours. We know that Sophie is advanced in years but she is actually quite healthy for her age by Vet accounts so there is no reason to believe that Sophie won't be around for a few more years.
