My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB: September 1, 2016

Hi, I'm Lucy! I'm a six month old tuxedo kitten who has come a long way since being picked up as a tiny stray! I am still learning how to play gently, but feet are so much fun to jump on...so my foster family makes sure to have lots of toys around to distract me. I require lots of playtime every day because I have so much energy and an even bigger personality. I come when I'm called, I'm happy to be brushed while I eat, and I'll snuggle up on a fuzzy blanket and lick you when I'm tired. I never learned how to play nicely with other cats, so my foster cat brother tends to run away from me...but I LOVE my German Shepherd foster brother! He tells me when I'm biting him too hard, and he plays chase around the house with me! I'm not allowed to sleep in the bedroom yet with my foster parents, because they don't like being woken up to play at 4am, so I am happy to quietly play and sleep in my own room until they let me out in the morning. I still have some ways to go, but with the right patient person, lots of playtime and a little maturity, I will be your best friend!

I love all of my toys, but my favourite are a plastic takeout spoon (which I carry around the house), cardboard paper towel rolls and sticks with feathers attached. Sometimes I will hoard my toys in my room so nobody takes them. I also enjoy jumping in the fridge and washing machine, so you must keep an extra eye on me to make sure I am not trapped!

I was picked up as a stray by TAS at about one month old, alone, so I am still learning how to behave like a cat! Thankfully my foster dog brother taught me how to clean myself and is teaching me how to play nicely, because nobody showed me how before.

I am not recommended for a home with other cats. I love large dogs but they must have an amazing temperament because I like to bite their ankles and tail when they walk by. I am not suitable for a home with children.

Lucy has made SO much progress since coming to stay with us! She still has a lot to learn, but the big payoff is when she's tired out and will lay with you licking your hands. She is fearless and wild, but has an undeniable sweetness that is coming out more every day. She needs a lot of patience, but trust me...watching her improve has made her the most rewarding foster kitten yet!
