Meet Junebug, a very happy and outgoing 1 year-old Border Collie/Pointer mix female, who came to Canine Lifeline from an overcrowded county dog shelter. She had come into the shelter with an injury to her hips and went into a foster home for cage rest and recuperation. Once she arrived at Canine Lifeline, x-rays revealed that she needed surgery to repair one of her hip joints so that she would be able to live a better quality of life. She had FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery in early January and has recovered very well in her foster home. She’s at the point now where she can run and play with other dogs so is ready to find herself a permanent new home. Junebug doesn’t let anything slow her down and enjoys playing with other dogs. She can play quite rough though so if there’s another dog in her new home, it would have to be a canine companion who would welcome that rough and tumble style of play. Junebug has excellent crate manners and may be housetrained too although we can’t guarantee it. She will need some work on her leash manners but she’s very eager to please and food-motivated so working with her on obedience training should be a rewarding experience. Junebug weighs about 37 pounds and her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email email@example.com if you’re interested in Junebug. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Junebug’s surgery cost about $1,000. If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation to help with her care so that we are able to save another dog with special needs in the future, please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to make an online donation or send a check to Canine Lifeline, PO Box 25742, Garfield Hts OH 44125.
