Nellie was found in the fencing area of a Baton Rouge business after the flood in an area that was almost completely flooded. We think she found her way to dry ground. No one claimed her. She was about 12 wks old when found. She is now about 9 months. She is possibly a boxer/pit mix but sometimes she howls like a hound and has webbed feet. She weighs around 45lb. She loves everyone she meets and is great with other dogs and children. She does like to jump up so we are working on that with her. We have to be cautious around small kids because she doesn't realize her size. She loves chasing tennis balls and playing in the yard with her foster siblings and foster human sister. She is house trained and kennel trained. She has to be taken out in the morning first thing or she will potty in her kennel trained.
Stays in kennel while fosters are at work and during the night but sure she'd love sleeping with her humans if she had the chance. We think she has the perfect energy level. She will go out and burn it off then come inside and lay around. She also is great on a leash and would make a great running partner. Her dislikes are bath time and eating near other dogs. She eats it too fast and will choke. We let her eat alone in a separate area. During downtime she loves cuddling and being close to her people. All around she's a great dog and has a super sweet personality. Nellie is up to date on vaccinations & heartworm prevention. She is also spayed.
