I'm Hank! My Mom and Dad named me that because when I was a pup, I howled and crooned and it reminded them of Hank Williams! I am the "Big Brother" to Quincy who was named that because my Mom liked the name! We are a Lab/Terrier mix and are from the same litter. We were born November 10, 2015. We love to play fetch, swim, chew bones, and eat treats. We love people and are great with kids. As the "Big Brother", I am more serious and calm than Qu incy. He is extra playful and excitable! We are being rehomed because our Mom and Dad had to downsize and we need more room to be us! We are used to being outside during the day and are kenneled inside at night. I have my kennel and Quincy has his. We can bring them with us if you'd like! We would love to stay together even though Quincy sometimes gets on my nerves! But, he's my brother and we are family and we have never been separated so Mom and Dad are really hoping we can be rehomed together to a wonderful family. Please consider taking us home with you!

About K-9 Angels Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

K-9 Angels Rescue is an all-volunteer, all-breed canine rescue organization established in February 2012. As of April 10, 2016, we've found homes for over 2,700 dogs!!

We are a rescue group for shelter dogs who run out of time. In other words, we are not a shelter, have no permanent facilities, and are not equipped to take in dogs from the public. We select dogs from the greater Houston "kill" animal control facilities who would not have made it out alive. (Don't worry! If you need help rehoming a dog, there are other non-profit groups who can assist you.)

No one involved in K-9 Angels receives ANY compensation. Our volunteers are compassionate animal welfare advocates who contribute their time, skills, and finances to shelter homeless dogs in Houston. To save the lives of the abandoned, abused, and stray dogs who end up in Houston's animal control facilities, K-9 Angels relies completely on adoption fees, donations, and our amazing volunteers.

K-9 Angels covers ALL costs for dogs currently in the program. During intake, every dog gets a microchip and is spayed or neutered (if old enough for the procedure). If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. We fund all medical care necessary, even if we have to raise extra Helping Paw funds for special cases! From the time they enter the program to the time they graduate, K-9 Angels dogs are kept up-to-date on all vaccines (DHLPPC, bordatella, rabies) as well as heartworm and flea prevention.

We commit to K-9 Angels dogs until they are adopted.
Our volunteer foster homes patiently provide safety, love, and integration into a household environment - a key to successful adoptions. The biographies, pictures, and even videos from foster homes are important "pup-licilty" for our dogs! We are always in need of additional foster homes.

Our goal is a "fur-ever" home! We take every precaution not to contribute to the dog overpopulation problem here in Houston. Applications are processed according to our adoption policies to insure the best situation for our dogs and the families who adopt them.

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from K-9 Angels Rescue! Please understand that not all families and dogs are compatible. Every effort is made to match a dog’s exhibited traits with characteristics you desire in a dog.
As such, adoptions are not done on a first-come, first-served basis. In the event we have multiple applications for the same dog and all applications are equal, we will most likely adopt the dog to the applicant having current or previous dog ownership.

To be considered as an adopter, you must be:
- At least 23 years of age and possess valid identification showing current residential address;
- Willing and able to invest the time and money required to provide proper care for a dog
(estimated minimum annual cost = $950 per dog);
- Prepared to pay a $200 Adoption Fee (this includes the dog’s spay/neuter, microchip,
boarding, vaccinations, heartworm and flea prevention, and any other medicines or medical
procedures needed);
- Willing to allow us to do a home visit prior to adoption; and
- Prepared to give us your veterinarian’s contact information if you currently own a dog
or have owned a dog in the past
