Iggy's Story...
Meet Iggy! This little chiweenie came to us 2.5 years ago as a cute puppy with a crooked tail and a personality for days. Well he was adopted and doing great during our follow up visit. 2.5 years later he wandered up to someone's door looking skinny and malnourished. He was reunited with us where he has been treated for valley fever and has put on 6lb in a matter of weeks. He is sooo friendly with people and kids, ok with dogs given a proper intro - he is better as your sole best friend than as a playmate. He is dog door trained and can be crates but he barks in the crate making him best for a home not an apartment if you crate. He is left out without destruction, but we can never endure how he will be in a new home.

He is 2.5 years old, treat motivated, and so goofy friendly he will make your heart melt! We don't know how he got the way he did, but he is resilient and doing awesome with us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Iggy, a Phoenix Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
