My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ZANDER is a 10 year old neutered chocolate male Lab who weighs 102 pounds but could lose a few. Kayne and Zander are a bonded pair of distinguished gentlemen who are just as much at ease with other dogs as they are with each other. They have spent their lives with young children and are very gentle and tolerant. They are normally good with cats, although Zander did trot two strides toward the vet’s cat at his last visit. The boys were returned after their adopters divorced and their dad couldn’t find a home for the three of them. When their former fosters found out, they offered to take them in again because they are such a neat pair who make absolutely no demands, but add so much to life. They are just an old comfortable pair of shoes. Their favorite part of the day is their walk in the woods, where they always stay close by, despite being off-leash. They walk fine on a leash, but there isn’t any need unless they are going to the vet or other place where a leash is required.
Kayne loves his tummy tickles and ear scratches after meals: he will roll over- in slow motion- and his smile will turn to happy grunts and some silly gatoring. Zander loves his ball and he was the first dog we fostered who actually threw it back to us; while others have tried, no one has come close to breaking his record for distance. When you stop playing fetch, Zander will furrow his brow and grunt.
The boys are housebroken but have never been crated at their foster home. Kayne has some arthritis in his elbow so he’d probably be more comfortable not having to do a lot of stairs regularly, but other than that, the boys would be happy to call just about anywhere home. He is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!
