Ziggy's Story...
My name is Ziggy. I'm 7-8 years old and 12 pounds. I love to have my tummy scratched. I'll lie beside you or on your lap to keep you company.
I love being outside and running around the yard. I do need a fence because I can be distracted by squirrels and run to catch them.
I get along with dogs of all sizes, but don't do well with other small animals, as I like to hunt (which is true to my breed). I'm not much of a digger though, preferring to run around and try to catch small flying insects.
I don't yap too much, but I do bark when I hear something outside. I like to keep my human safe. I like children (but not for dinner!).
I am crate trained. I love treats, and, as I said above, tummy rubs.

Ziggy's adoption fee is $395.00. If interested please fill out an adoption application at:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ziggy, a Hamilton Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Hamilton, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Hamilton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hamilton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hamilton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hamilton paves the way for another one to be saved.
