Rupert's Info...

I am already neutered, up to date with shots, not good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Rupert's Story...
Hi! My name's Rupert, and I'm a 2 year old rat terrier mix! I was surrendered to the shelter by my owner who could no longer keep me. I'm a nice little guy, but I do take a little time to warm up to new people. I would do best in a home where I can be the only pet, no other dogs or cats please.

Prior to being adopted I will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and will also have a microchip. All I need now is someone who will be patient and show me that things may not be as scary as I sometimes think they are. Do you think I would be a good fit for your home?? Stop by the shelter to say hi!! Shelter hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2.

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rupert, a Youngwood Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
