Josh's Story...
They just don't make them any sweeter than our big lug, Josh. Josh is a Korean mastiff that is a little over a year old and finally ready to find a great home of his own. He came to us with several of his friends in the summer of 2016 but since there were ownership issues, he wasn't ready to be adopted until now. Josh is so happy to make new friends so you'll love this big boy immediately. Josh had a skin condition when he arrived which we treated, but we have found out that he also has a bit of a thyroid condition which caused some of his hair to fall out. He will need medication to keep his thyroid normal indefinitely but the meds are relatively inexpensive, and a small price to pay to have this lovable boy in your life. Josh is really a gentle giant. He is so happy to get attention and just leans into you to get you to pet him. He is well behaved too and walks like a perfect gentleman on a leash. Josh doesn't have a mean bone in his body and the only time he gets a little riled up is when he is playing, and that is just running and tossing toys around like a puppy. Josh is fine with most dogs he meets and will love you forever if you give him the great home that he deserves. File#26474 7/1/16

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josh, a Forked River Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mastiff for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Mastiff dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mastiff breeders who help with Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
