Arrival story: Jimmy was picked up as a stray by Detroit Animal Control. We fell in love with him and his goofy personality as he pranced around while we volunteered there. Jimmy was heartworm positive when we brought him into Waggin’ Tails. He has since had treatment and has fully recovered.

Approximate age / Weight: Approx. 6 years / 60 lbs.

Personality: Jimmy looks like he had a bit of a rough start, though we don’t know anything about his past life. He is such a loving boy who is friendly with everyone he meets. He’s got a very sweet and goofy personality that often comes out when prancing around or snuggling.

Jimmy needs a loving family or person who will be patient with him, work with him on training, and give him the love and attention he deserves.

Jimmy knows basic commands and loves to “sit” for treats. He also loves to give kisses! He is both house and crate-trained and will sleep in his crate at night or when his humans aren’t home. Jimmy is still learning and needs some work when walking on a leash. He is a well-mannered, snuggly guy who deserves to find his forever home.

Forever home: Jimmy is seeking a warm and loving family to call his very own, Jimmy enjoys learning new things, so he'd like his new family or person to continue with his training. Although he does not currently live with children, Jimmy has had some experience and seems to do well with children of all ages. Jimmy has a moderate energy level and would love to be your walking pal on daily walks. He gets along with other dogs and would do well with another canine companion. A fenced-in yard is required. No electric fences, please.
