Doris's Story...
Hi! My name's Doris, what's yours? I was recently abandoned at the shelter by my owners. They just opened the front door and left me there. I was scared and didn't know where I was or why they left me alone in this strange place. The nice people here at the shelter took me in and are caring for me until I find a nice new family to be a part of....hopefully they won't leave me alone in a strange place like my last people did.

I'm a very nice little girl, and like everyone I meet! Before I go to my new home I will be up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and will also have a microchip! I'm around 11 years old, so I won't need to go on 5 mile walks or chew up your favorite pair of shoes. I just need love!

The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit me!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Doris, a Youngwood Miniature Pinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature Pinscher for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Miniature Pinscher dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
