Gracie's Story...
Gracie is a 6 year golden retriever who was surrendered by her owner. She absolutely loves people and is awesome! She is 95% housetrained and 100% kennel trained. She is her foster mom's shadow and sleeps across her chest at night; she walks very well on a leash and enjoys cuddling up at her foster mom's feet for a Netflix binge session. Her naughty habit is ripping up paper; she particularly enjoys shredding toilet paper or loose printer paper that is left on the desk when her foster mom leaves for work. It's possible that she thinks if she has some important documents then maybe her foster mom's office will let her go to work with her instead of being stuck at home with her foster brothers and sisters. Speaking of her foster siblings, they range from puppies to seniors and 35 lbs to 100 lbs- she doesn't have any issues with anyone. She definitely loves attention, but will quietly lay at your feet if she can tell you're busy at the moment- she lays next to the shower and even the toilet while her foster mom gets ready for work. #noboundaries #goldenprincess #thisdogrocks

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracie, a Fort Atkinson Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Fort Atkinson, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Fort Atkinson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Atkinson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Atkinson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Atkinson paves the way for another one to be saved.
