Update 4/2017: Some sad news about Austin, when he went in for Xrays for his heartworm treatment, it was discovered he has a tumor in his chest. Austin will stay with his foster family until he is ready to cross the bridge. Please keep them in your thoughts and consider a donation for his care, as his veterinary bills have been several hundred dollars. Thank you.

It's costly for the rescue to keep up with the monthly expenses for our hospice dogs, please consider a donation for their care!

Meet Austin! This sweet boy was found as a stray and when his owner did not reclaim him from the shelter, he came to GPMR. At 109 pounds, Austin is just skin and bones, it seems he's been wandering a while. We treated him for intestinal parasites and fleas, as well as for an ear infection. Austin unfortunately tested positive for heartworms and will begin treatment once's he is healthier and put on some much needed weight. The vet thinks he is about 3 to 4 years old.

Austin in true Mastiff fashion loves to be with his people. Despite what he's been through he is a very sweet and loving dog.

We'll post more about Austin once we get a chance to know him better.

Austin is being fostered in Tulsa, OK.
