Where do I begin? I haven’t been on this earth long but boy if it wasn’t for bad luck I wouldn’t have any luck at all! I’m not sure if I was tossed outside or ran away but eventually the Geneseo PD picked me up and took me to the Geneseo Pound. I didn’t have a microchip to help locate my people. The PD waited a week for someone to claim me but sadly no one did. Next stop was the shelter. Such nice people! They could tell I wasn’t feeling well. I had bad frostbite on my front paw pads plus a urinary infection. Lots of TLC and ointment on my paws got them pink again. Meds cleared up the infection. But something still wasn’t right. Blood work showed my glucose level was very high. I was borderline diabetic! I was put on special food (Purina ProPlan Veterinary DM Dietetic) and finally my glucose was normal. It’s something I will always have to keep an eye on but our vet feels I will never have to need insulin as long as I can stay on my special food..
