My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Jupiter. I'm a 9-month-old spayed female Chihuahua mix puppy. Mixed with what, I'm not sure. Your guess is as good as mine. I weigh about 6 pounds right now, but I still have some growing to do. Even after I'm full grown, I think I'll still be small enough to be a great travel buddy. I'm as adorable and sweet as they come, with lots of playful puppy energy! I get along well with everyone I meet - humans and canines alike. I assure you that you'll fall in love with my spunky personality when you meet me.

I was turned in to the South LA pound as an owner surrender in mid-February, and it didn't take long for the shelter staff to fall in love with me. They told CageFree that I was in need of a forever home, and my new friends at the rescue agreed to help find me one. After a short car ride, I found myself at CageFree's facility, surrounded by lots of new friends. I was a little shy at first, but after spending a few minutes with the staff, I warmed up to them and gave them plenty of kisses.

I was treated for a skin condition called Demodex, which caused much of the fur on my back to fall out. The treatment included bi-weekly medicated baths at the veterinarian's office...and that's it! Yup, it was a pretty easy fix. My fur has already grown back in and I don't need any further treatment at this time.

I could definitely benefit from some training. I'm not very good at walking on a leash yet, but I'm learning! I'm still just a puppy, so you can't really blame me for not knowing any of my basic commands yet. I'll get there!

So, what do you think? Do I seem like the right dog for you? If so, please contact CageFree to arrange a visit with me. I can't wait to move into my forever home!
