Simon's Story...
Hi there, I'm Simon Tam, physician and crew member aboard Serenity (nerd points if you know what that is!)! My ship docked here at DCACC and my fellow crew members 9siblings) and I decided it's time to settle down and find families of our own! Let me tell you a bit about myself: I'm a very smart boy (the smartest of my siblings, just don't tell them I said so!) and I love to get into mischief! I love to climb and jump, and run, but what I love most of all is to snuggle into an open pair of arms and get some cuddle time! I have been living with my siblings in a foster home and I would love to go home with one of my brothers so I can have someone to play with! Are you looking for a smart, mischievous trouble maker to add to your household? I'm the man for the job! Come by the shelter and meet me today! Please visit for more details or call 630-407-2800.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Simon, a Wheaton Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Wheaton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Wheaton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wheaton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wheaton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wheaton paves the way for another one to be saved.
