My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

An adoption application on GRETA can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

In addition to being beautiful, GRETA is a great dog. She is smart as a whip and driven by both love and treats. She always aims to please which definitely makes training easier and more fun! GRETA is fabulous with other dogs! She shares her foster home with 1 medium and 1 large dog, but has also played with many other pups including a 13 lb cairn terrier. She has and been excellent with all of them. She saves all her love for dogs and humans leaving none left for kitty cats. Her forever home will not have feline family members.

GRETA adores playing with balls. She also is great at self entertainment. She loves to toss her toys in the air or lay down and chew a nylabone. She is both house and crate trained. She allows bath time with no hesitation. She is an OUTSTANDING car passenger and would love to ride with her people everywhere they go. Her coat is shiny and she hasn't experienced any of the sensitive stomach issues that are so common in rottweilers. GRETA is a loyal companion who is happiest when she is near her foster family. She is 18 months old, 85 lbs, and has all the exuberance of a puppy. She is everything that is wonderful about the breed!
Woof River requires applicants to have rottweiler or other large dog experience in order to be considered for GRETA.

GRETA is spayed, micochipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $450 adoption fee includes her interstate health certificate and cost of transport to New England after she is adopted.

Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
