Ethel's Story...
Meet Ethel! This old gal is looking for a place to spend the rest of her days in. Aside from being partially deaf and having cataracts, Ethel is healthy as a horse! Our vet believes she may have lived her entire life in a kennel, as her teeth show signs of chewing on metal, she has very little muscle mass, and is missing a few toes. Ethel is one of the sweetest and most loving dogs we have at the shelter. She does great with dogs of any kind and absolutely adores kids! Do you have space in your home and in your heart to let this sweet senior live out the rest of her life?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ethel, a Fredericksburg Poodle (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Standard) for sale in Fredericksburg, or seeking a Poodle (Standard) dog from a breeder in Fredericksburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fredericksburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fredericksburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Standard) breeders who help with Poodle (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fredericksburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
