My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kuma is a male purebred Maltese, 3 years of age. He has a lovely white, straight coat of non shedding hair. He is a nice size, weighing 8 lbs. Kuma arrived from Korea on Feb. 16th after being rescued from an illegal puppy mill that was raided before the dogs could be sent to the meat market. Amazingly, he is friendly and personable. Kuma truly enjoys being near a person and receiving affection. He thoroughly enjoys belly rubs and being petted. Kuma found life to be so enjoyable with a caring person that he became upset (crying and howling) when his loving care provider left him alone. To help Kuma with his separation anxiety, he was moved to a foster home with another Maltese (Gina) from Korea. When Kuma saw Gina, they immediately embraced and kissed each other. Kuma and Gina love to explore the outdoors together, cuddle next to each other for naps, and sleep together at night. With Gina by his side, Kuma does not exhibit separation anxiety when his foster mom leaves the home. These two dogs would be very happy with an adoptive family as long as they could stay together. Kuma is making progress with house training so a yard and a caring person with time to train are needed to help Kuma become a very lovable companion pet.
