My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Schnauzer/Terrier is deservedly known as a great breed mix! Of utmost importance...both breeds are famous for their great temperaments, intellect, love of fun and extremely snuggly ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and very gentle with family members and other family pets. Phoenix is a great representative of both these loving and family-oriented breeds. He absolutely loves being with his people...if a walk is the order of the day - count him in! Phoenix would be overjoyed to take a hike through the Colorado mountains...and then crash on the couch snuggling close to his favorite humans and canines. Phoenix is an absolutely adorable and engaging guy who favors the intellect of the Schnauzer while taking on the very engaging and fun-loving qualities of the Terrier.

Phoenix's Kansas rescuer had the following to say about this incredible guy:

Phoenix is the sweetest baby with an easy going personality and a medium level of energy. He does love to play and take walks (we're working on his leash skills and he's coming along), but he also loves to cuddle and have his tummy scratched. Phoenix gets along really well with our three smaller dogs and did great when our fifteen year old grandson was visiting. We crate him at night next to our bed (but I must admit that he's so irresistible that I've been letting him snuggle next to me in bed :-), and he sleeps quietly through the night.

Phoenix would fit in nicely with virtually any family since he's an incredibly sweet and loving guy! He would enjoy the attention and full-time company of retirees and they would love him as well. He's an amazing lap-dog and a wonderful and loyal best friend. I think that Phoenix would also be very happy playing with older, dog-crazy kids. He would appreciate their love of fun and then cuddling in bed with them through the night.

Phoenix appears to be a non-shedding pup..once his sad shelter hair grows out, He will have one of the most beautiful coats around. Phoenix will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free.

Phoenix's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes playmates everywhere he goes. He is social and that means everyone he meets has the potential to become a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Phoenix's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Phoenix goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion.

Phoenix is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of his breed mix. At just about 9 - 12 months old and 12 lbs, he seems to be healing from his very scary experience in a shelter...each day he's blossoming just a little more. Phoenix has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Phoenix in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he's engaging and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member.

Phoenix won't be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of Kansas. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Phoenix's neuter and microchip after his arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used.

Phoenix will be arriving on transport in Denver on Tuesday 2/28/27. If interested in this very sweet guy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
