Hi!  My name is Joey and I am a very pretty Pekingese. My family loved me very much but their situation changed so PNC is going to find me a new home. I am a very mellow and sweet lady.  I am a young, 12 years old. I am a shy but independent gal. I am not much of a snuggler.

I am potty trained and as long as I know what door is out - I will let you know if I have to go potty. I am also very routine- oriented, so I know when I will be taken out. I am a very content lady with very nice house manners. I rarely bark and prefer to sit by your side.

My ideal home would be with someone who needs a companion, maybe an older person like me. But, I do like kids. So, a family with older children would be good too.  Since I am older, a more relaxed environment would probably be better for me. I have lived with another dog and it was okay.

Do you think we could spend our golden years together? You for me and me for you?

My adoption donation is $ 150 + Tax $ 10.71.

All dogs are current on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and on preventative, micro-chipped and if recommended by a Vet, have had a dental cleaning and other treatment to get and keep them healthy while in the rescue’s care. All dogs are living in foster homes and house manners, including potty training and any behavioral issues are being worked on.  But we never say our dogs are 100% house- trained as when they transition to a new home there can be accidents while they adjust to a new environment and schedule.

PNC Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit and any and all donations over and above the adoption donation are tax deductible.  We have a large group of dogs in our Furever Foster program that acts as a foster based sanctuary for dogs not likely to be adopted.  The rescue keeps these dogs healthy, comfortable and on necessary medications with necessary treatments for life.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via email, and remember we are all volunteers.  Your patience is appreciated!

About PNC Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

PNC Rescue is a small dog rescue organization made up of volunteers located throughout the Midwest area.

Our group is dedicated to the breeds of Pekingese and Japanese Chin, and our purpose is to rescue and rehabilitate abused, abandoned, neglected and surrendered dogs. These dogs are provided with the attention, care and medical treatment necessary including spaying/neutering, until a permanent home can be found.

Our organization consists of volunteers and relies on public donations to provide medical treatment for the dogs in our care. 100% of all donations go to the benefit of the animals.

Our Adoption Process...

Anyone interested in adopting one of our pets will need to fill out our online adoption application found at our website:

We have a process in which we check references you have provided us on your application and perform a home visit. An approved adopter will then need to sign an adoption contract and provide us with full payment of the adoption fee. All dogs are spayed/neutered and are brought up-to-date on all their shots before they leave our care.

It is extremely rare, but if, after all our efforts and yours, an adoption doesn't work out we ask that the dog be returned to us and we confirm that we will take the dog back providing a cushion for both.
