Oscar is the sweetest six year-old American Bulldog gentleman. He loves humans, pups and even minds his manners perfectly with the kids and kitties. He is house trained, nondestructive and walks perfectly on the leash. He's happy to spend his days wrestling with his pup buddies or cuddling with his humans. Basically, he's just always happy. Always.
Oscar was rescued from a small high-kill rural shelter by one of our partner rescuers. She saw him waiting patiently in a cold outdoor run and when she inquired about him, the shelter employee just referred to him as "some old dog." When his rescuer went to go meet him, she could immediately tell how special he was when he gently offered his paw for a shake and then softly kissed her hand. She sat down next to him and he immediately climbed right in her lap. She knew then she couldn't leave him behind.
His foster mom adores him too and tells us simply, "to know Oscar is to love him." And we couldn't agree more. We've yet to meet a more gentle and kind-hearted Underdog in all our rescue years. Oscar would make a wonderful family dog.
