Five little monkeys jumping on a bed . . .
Okay, so they're not monkeys and they weren't always this carefree. Five little puppies were set to be killed by the owner of the mother dog because he didn't want them -- how's that for backwards logic: spaying your female dog doesn't cross your mind but shooting 5 innocent puppies does. In the nick of time a volunteer removed them from underneath the man's porch . . . and these 5 little puppies have been jumping on beds ever since!!

Foster mom knows them best:

"Max is the charmer. With his distinctive coloring and perky ears, he always wins the cute contest. He is an Alpha male and is definitely the leader of the pack of 5 puppies. He is the puppy in charge and all the other guys know it. Max is extremely friendly and loves to get up in my lap. He loves to play with other puppies. Actually prefers the company of other dogs so we would love to find him a home where he has ample canine playmate companionship. He is a very smart puppy that has a natural instinct to herd. Max would be the happiest in an area where he has room to roam and run -- he has lots of energy for someone with an active lifestyle. He loves squeaky toys and tennis balls. Also, for some reason a bandanna has provided hours of tug and war fun between himself and another dog. He will bring years of happy memories to the family that is willing to provide him a fun home."

We think Max is a Cattle Dog-mix, he is about 3 months old, weighs about 10 - 15 pounds and he is a very healthy boy. BEFORE you apply, please read this link about the breed: Cattle Dogs Cattle dogs are not easy dogs.

If you've got room on your bed for this little monkey, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting, microchip and neuter included in his $400 adoption fee. Transport fee is additional $150. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE

Why Adoption is a Great Option

*Maximus - PENDING, a Westport Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie for sale in Westport, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Westport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Westport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Westport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Westport paves the way for another one to be saved.
