Roku's Story...
Roku is a super cute baby male Abyssinian breed guinea pig. He was born on Feb 4th 2017. He is a sweet little boy. He is a bit fast when trying to catch him, and he does wiggle when he is in your hands. He does calm down quickly when you sit with him. (he will slow down as he ages). He is currently eating "young" oxbow pellets until he is 6 months old-then switch to Adult pellets. He loves romaine lettuce, apples, parsley, oranges and spinach so far.
He does have a small wound on his rear, which is believed to be from his mom shooing him from nursing. We are treating the wound which is healing up great.(it does not appear to be anything serious)
He got along with his sibling and will probley get along with other males. Since he is a wiggly baby, he would not be recommended for a children under 10.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roku, a Harleysville Guinea Pig was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Guinea Pig for sale in Harleysville, or seeking a Guinea Pig from a breeder in Harleysville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harleysville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harleysville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Guinea Pig breeders who help with Guinea Pig rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harleysville paves the way for another one to be saved.
