My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

March 2017: This silly southern boy is sassy and adorable, and we couldn't love him more. He LOVES his day care friends, and he loves his humans of all shape and sizes.

Our southern partner shelter tells us, "Now here is a dog who will make all of your days sunny and bright! Kovu is an absolute delight! He is a sweet, friendly, active and energetic young dog who is turning one year old and has the most joyful presence!" He weighs 38 lbs, and Kovu does very well on a leash on long daily walks. He really shines in the play yard, where he spends most of his time with the toys. One of our volunteers reports that Kovu picked up a tennis ball right after they entered the yard, and then played with every one he found. He loves chasing the ball and will leap up to catch it. Kovu would probably star in an agility class with his great moves! He would be an excellent walking or running buddy. Kovu will already sit for the reward of a treat and is very trainable.

Kovu has unique coloring and an adorable curly tail. He enjoys being petted and cuddled and is such a good-natured dog who loves everyone.

They use the Meet Your Match Evaluation process and Kovu came out as Orange – Goofball: “I’m a fun-loving, happy-all-the-time, glass-is-half full kind of dog looking for someone who loves to laugh and play around. Must have a great sense of humor and some time to spend with me. I’m on a mission to please you.”

Kovu is an athletic Houdini boy and will scale a fence and get out of some crates so the adults have to be one step ahead of this cutie. Kovu met a cat and didn't really know what to do with her. He got very excited but wasn't aggressive. When she swatted him he came right back for some more curious sniffing.

Please note, we do not have a physical facility where our dogs are housed, they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. If you find a dog you would like to meet, our expectation is that, once approved, you will travel to meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
